I hardly ever do evaluations – however here I have to make an exception. I highly advocate Yamaha RX-V367 this to anybody searching for a high quality receiver to complement a Blu-ray player. I had an older Denon receiver which delivered nice sound, but when the Blu-ray films began arriving from Netflix, I discovered most of them required a DTS decoder which was absent within the Denon. After considerable analysis, I stumbled onto the brand new line of Yamaha receivers. I used to be a bit doubtful, having all the time previously owned Denon and Sony, but the specs regarded good, and the value was unbelievable, so I took the plunge.

After a month or so of use Yamaha RX-V367, I have no regrets. The sound high quality I get from my 5.1 Polks far exceeds the prior system. Sounds are richer, brighter, and the encompass has extra separation and clarity. For a a hundred W per channel system, the power consumption seems amazingly low – the highest of the receiver just gets barely warm, not hot. The speaker setup works effectively, and the film and music presets, as well as the improved 5 ch stereo are outstanding, actually enhancing the audio of the corresponding input. The show is large sufficient to see from the viewing chair, is clean and easy, and retains the viewer appropriately informed.

I applaud Yamaha for producing such a top quality product at a worth price-point.

simply received it yesterday(sat)…has all the nice yamaha ease of use…functionalty…intuitive…don’t actually need to have a look at the manual….just hooked it as much as a samsung 32inch 1080(120hz)/w/ optical cable…sounds great…going to purchase a Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Participant so i’ll let you understand if it true hdmi(both audio & video) not like the yamaha 365(eeeks…what have been they considering?)…waiting for some Polk Audio Monitor 70 three-Means Floorstanding Audio system (Single, Cherry)….will i would like a subwoofer? please comment…will update…

Hooked up the polk audio system and ended up buying the Samsung 6500 BluRay/Wifi dvd player…the HDMI connections on the receiver carries both the video & audio signals…love the truth that it has 2 audio optical connections…so pleased with this receiver!!!! would totally advocate for a sound system!!! What a fantastic value especially when you do not wish to spend large bucks but want a quality sound system!!

Better than expected

We had a really previous audio solely receiver and had been seeking to substitute it (almost 10 12 months old technics). Up to now we’re pleased with the new receiver; it’s related to the satellite tv for pc field, xbox, and blu ray.

Speaker set up: Set of Polk Rti8 (left right and center), and klipsch Klipsch Synergy Sequence SS.5 rear encompass (left and right). The sound coming from the speakers was MUCH better than from our historic receiver.

Not a fan of the Sound Field Packages, appears an excessive amount of like a gimmick, and only adds an echo relying on what setting (one setting might effect the vocals extra, or another setting would possibly impact the music), however I imagine some folks would enjoy that. Has many audio processing choices, works nice with Netflix streaming, set it to 5ch stereo and it will work nice; can clearly take heed to what’s taking part in (netflix solely streams in 2ch stereo). Mainly use the “Straight” audio processing setting (for xbox and blu ray), I assume the receiver does not add any further “audio goo”, and performs direct from the source.

Good video high quality, no noticeable video deterioration. Yamaha says it’s compatible with HDMI 1.4 and will support 3D (with a firmware improve). Not that excited about 3d TVs anyways.

Clear and simple to make use of menu system (compared to my previous technics receiver), competent directions, fairly user friendly.

Has four HDMI inputs which was a lot better than many of the opponents in the same price range. We didn’t take a look at the FM/AM tuner, and only linked HDMI and RCA from computer. We had been additionally swayed by the additional bluetooth adapter so we will hearken to music (and hopefully stream Hulu audio) wirelessly from the pc (and do away with the airport express). Will replace evaluate after getting bluetooth.
